Peter Kilner

Hi everybody,

I have just learnt from his brother David that dearest Peter passed away recently.

Those of you involved in Karting especially at Camberley and Sandown Park Kart Clubs will be as shocked as I am.

I first met Peter in 1999 down at Sandown near Esher, Surrey and we immediately became great friends.

He was the MSA Scrutineer and his knowledge of the sport was simply awesome.

Quite a few years earlier, Peter used to race Motorbikes so he knew all about being competitive and having the machinery correctly tuned and set up.

In his role as Scrutineer he was utterly fair and was also very helpful to all the competitors that often asked him for advice on all matters technical and driving too.

Sadly,Peter's wife passed away last Spring and he was beginning to enjoy life more fully after nursing her for some considerable time.

Life really can be cruel at times and Peter should have been around for years more to come.

I personally will never forget Peter and the karting community has been robbed of the kindest, sweetest and most lovely of men I have ever met.

He always had time for everybody, often had a joke to tell and his smile was wonderfully infectious.

Peter in all respects was an utter gentleman and now may he join his wife and Rest in Peace.

I am sure that he will be around all the Kart Circuits in the Sky with his friendly demeanour and helping everyone out.

Bless you Peter, the world is a sadder place without you my friend.

Paula Hamilton

I was very sad to hear the news of Peter's death. He was a delightful man and a very professional scrutineer -always more than helpful to all the competitors and a pleasure to work with as a fellow official. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
