Interesting Flavinha. Your fastest lap of the race is slower than your average race speed, as well as the fact that Marty Roth is not racing at St Pete!

Unfortunately, since kanaan banged the wall hard in the "Firestone Final Six" this afternoon, I can't do a "Quals" summary until I know whether or not AGR can repair the car...

I will tell you this....

Since Kanaan cannot be counted as the pole winner per IRL rules for the Fast 6, I cannot give points for that...the best he can start is 6th, and if the backup car is needed, I'll count Sarah and/or Tony as the slowest.

I have to count Tony's speed, because he had the fastest lap, so whoever is closest to that will get the two points.

Hornish or Scheckter will get the Just Miss, and I might just count both...after all, this is for fun, so the fate of the republic is not at stake and I want everyone to get asmany points as possible for the event...

I'll post the prelim results tomorrow, unless any of you have other ideas...

I'm easy when it comes to this, but I want to be sure that people get he proper points....

The "Just Missed" and 6th spots in particular are up for grabs right now, so I can't really determine how the pick add up.

Thanks for your understanding in this matter... I appreciate it.

From the official IRL grid, it looks like Kanaan will start sixth, so here are your Qualifying Results:

Drewdawg picked Helio for the pole for 2 pts.

DrDisque was closest to the fastest speed: Actual 105.202 Dr's pick: 104.555

In th top ^Marcus & drewdawg had 6 pts, Peno & DrDisque had 5 each and Falvinha had 4 pts. No one picked manning for the top 3 rows, and drewdawg picked Helio correct, marcus picked Kanaan correct.

Drewdawg, peno & marcus all had Sarah Fisher as the slowest qualifier.

Marcus wasalso closest to the speed: Actual: 97.218 marcus: 98.345

In keeping with the contest rules that date back 3 years, marcus also gets two Bonus Points for getting both of those correct.

Drew & Peno both had Hornish as the "Just Miss, and Flavinha got 1 pt here, because she piced a driver who qualified in the top 6 for this selection.

Points Thus Far after Quals:

1. Marcus - 12 pts.
(tie) drewdawg - 12 pts.
3. Peno - 9 pts.
4. DrDisque - 7 pts.
5. Flavinha - 5 pts.

Sorry to see that you did not pick, Alwaysfirst....

Good Luck this afternoon.

If it turns out that Kanaan does have to go back in the filed, I will keep the points as they are, but will count any other changes, which I believe someone picked Scheckter as "Just Miss," and if anyone had Sam in the top Three Rows, you will get the points for him.
