MCT Daytona Prototype
Does anybody know if this car is gonna appear with the open spots in Grand-Am? They seemed to be quite advanced with the design of a car and an engine, there were rumors that Archangel Motorsports was counting on it for a GA assault (in 200?4), but not much since... Anybody know more? They even seem to have a car built:
http://www.mctuk.com/casestudy1.html MCT/Menards seem to always be involved in unfinished projects: Zulltec P2 engine, sportscar 5.5 V10 (Hart) and now SuperLeague Formula/"Premier 2 GP" 750hp V12... Apart from their IndyPro engine supply, they say they work for stock-car and open wheel teams, but do we know more what MCT is up to? |

There aren't really "open" spots in Grand-Am for a totally new design. Sabre is the only constructor that's been allowed to introduce a design new to competition, although it's the same one they originally submitted back in 2002. The other new constructors are getting in by having the "ownership" of an existing design transferred to themselves. The Lola/Krohn DP is a development of the existing Multimatic design, for example.
As for Menard, I haven't heard any rumors that they're looking at taking over an existing DP license, although it seems there are still opportunities for them to do so were they to have an interest. |

Why finish a project if you cant sell it or use it? Few companies have the money to do things just for the grins. |

Oh, and I think Menard is doing the Nissan/Infiniti engines in Grand-Am for Playboy/Unitech in both GT and DP, although it looks like the DP program may have stalled.

They will eventually. They have to, because gorillas like Lola and Dallara are joining a market that even in current form they can not break.
