Another good reason to attend Lydden

Taken from Crash.net

"Team Eurotech British GT racers Mike Jordan and Michael Caine will make their rallycross debut at Lydden Hill on Monday 29 August during the John Guest-supported meeting.

The Porsche racers will both compete in the team's Peugeot 205GTi in the Stock Hatch category, with one contesting the British Rallycross Championship event and one competing in the BTRDA Rallycross Championship round.

With a number of guests from team sponsor John Guest attending the event, Jordan and Caine will share the limelight with young Andrew Jordan, who will continue his bid for the British Junior Rallycross title at the same event and will help coach the two GT racers.

Jordan senior says that the gloves will be off in the competition to be the quicker of the two GT racers.

"I will certainly be doing some extra test sessions in the 205, but Michael won't get the chance to even sit in the car before the event!" he said. "I'll probably engineer the car myself, so that won't help his chances either..."

In terms of front-wheel drive experience, Caine is way ahead of Jordan – although neither has competed in rallycross in the past.

"Michael's got extensive front-wheel drive experience from when he won his class in the Slick 50 Road Saloon Championship in a VW Sirocco," Jordan continued. "I've only ever raced front-wheel drive once in a Vauxhall Astra and I crashed that!

"Michael's got plenty of experience of driving on the grass and through gravel, but not of his own choice and usually in a TVR Tuscan or a GT Porsche. I've done a couple of gravel rallies, but I was crap at that!"

Cool. Someone else to beat me then, haha.

If John Guest are supporting the meeting does that mean we get cheaper enteries!?!

I think not!

Twiglet please calm down - as I said to you please talk to me before you make decisions. Is your car sale irreversable. If it is get another one - the sport needs teams like yours, The problem is not yours it is the BRDAs appalling publicity.

The 9th is the final date if you want to get your name in the programme and final instructions through the post, I believe the person who deals with the entries is away for a while so the date has been brought forward. Entries will still be accepted after the 9th but finals will have to be collected on the gate at Lydden (all that is off the BRDA website).

A few cars out at Lydden today (in the morning track day), Gollop, Briggs, Sellar and Harbour. Problems for the Clios though, Briggs looks to have split an oil pipe whilst Sellars engine appeared to seize. Hopefully all will be ok for the 29th though.

Yep, I think Twiglet and that little fella she hangs around with should marshal. I'll lend her the leg from my old set of overals, that should be about her size.
