Hey GTR, is this a name of a company, with the "IN" in different colour it rings of it.

They still had Cosworth on the sticker on the rear window.

Cosworth was on the back window iirc.

I suspect Gore was having a little word play, possibly -

Independant (incorrectly spelt) - meaning they are by themselves.
AND
IN Dependant - IN is blue for some reason (Ford?) Dependant meaning Inside dependant?

any wordsmiths who can come up with something?

They are not a Ford Factor backed team, making them independent. Craig Gore also noted this throughout the weekend. Unfortunately the team did not make the mistake, it was a third party mistake in regards to the spelling.

It isn't in regard to anything else but being "Independent".

And the colour isn't blue for Ford, but it is blue for WPS. If you look at the website at the bottom of the windscreen, you will see that WPS is also written in that exact same colour.

Certainly caused a few laughs.

I am pretty sure I heard over the track commentary that is was a message to his mate "Tom". Being Tom Gormon I guess.
Article in one of the current mags makes reference to the "relationship" between WPS and ford and even the Larkham influence has not helped.

Hmm, further inspection says it was Cosworth on Saturday.

Why doesnt Gore just go to Holden????? Quit the bellyaching and move......the one thing I hate about WPS is I actually like the drivers and Larko........a bit hard to follow them when these ridiculous things come up at races!

I think your spot on, Mr Gore having ago at FORD.

You would think that now FORD has won Bathurst they could help out WPS.

I like this team, however I cannot see why ford would want to be involved with them.

From my perspective they are marketers first racers second. Those are the old 00 chassis?

I seem to remember some chat at the time that they were supposed to get new kit, but it didn't happen??

I also can't beleive someone let the stickers go on without the spell-checker being used.....

If not a Ford, not a Holden.. then.....

it would be 7th in the teams championship, ahead of HRT SCAR BOC Tasman

and was the 2nd highest accumulator of points during the endurnace races with just a poultry 710 more points than HRT

Whoa, beating HRT... Not hard these days! They had their best round ever at Sandown because Larko and Gorey weren't there, and Bathurst, well... They just got lucky.

in the words of the great garry rogers, who they are also beating, there is no such thing as bad luck, just bad managment. and that just about sums up HRT during the enduros

but seriously to get both cars to finish at both enduros suggest a bit more than luck, possibly it related to their strong driving combinations

No... WPS are still running the 2003 vintage 00-Beehag chassis, with a LOT of serious development from their engineering crew.

No point building new cars to last only one more season, with Orion on the way....

I wouldn't be too concerned about the spelling error. As far as TV exposure went, it was hardly seen all day.

There are 2 partially completed shells in the WPS Racing workshop, one closer to completion than the other. They are still there, as spare, and could be built up if worse came to worse.

The technical department at WPS Racing has chosen to develop the existing equipment as they are of a similar lineage and design (but more highly refined with new bits such as better dampers) to the Orrcon cars of last season (from whence the engineering staff came..)

Can I point to a press release confirming they are running 4 season old chassis? No.. sorry.. they generally only talk about shiny new things they are doing and building...
